Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Fail to start debugger..?

Hi, first post here, so be kind!  Cheesy

I just installed visualmicro 1.1305.09, entered my license key (both at install and also in the options). I'm running visual studio 2012 btw. Been trying to get some feedback going in the debugger, but once I have uploaded my sketches, I get nothing in the output window. I don't even actually have a "Micro Debug" option, only a "Micro Build" in the window... I saw on some screenshots on the vm page that there was a Micro Debug output... not sure if this has changed?

Apart from the above, the plugin seems to work fine... uploads and compiles as it should... any thoughts on how I can check if there is something wrong with my install?

If I understand correctly.
Then just Wiew / Other Windows / Properties Windows

Hi, thanks for your reply... I think I was a bit muddy on what I'm trying to get... I'd like to be able to see my breakpoint feedback in debug mode.. for instance, setting a hit counter on a variable in a loop, as far as I can see, we can get this feedback in the output window (under the Micro Debug heading). I get nothing, and I don't have the Micro Debug option, only Micro Build. Hope that's clearer..?

Hi,

Gelius explains how to show the project properties window which contains the properties you are looking for. 

Can you please explain if you have found and opened this tool window? Thanks

Ah, sorry about that Gelius! Now I understand, thought it was switched on by default once in the debug configuration. Works as expected now, thank you very much to both you and Tim. Wink
