Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

VS 2012 'not responding'

I've just gotten back to VS/VM and Arduino work after a few months away.  As far as I can tell, VS/VM are all up to date, but it seems Visual Studio has a 'hair-trigger' and can drop into 'Not Responding' very easily, and quite frequently.  (Win 7 64b) I have to bring up Task Manger to end it and restart.  

Any known things that may be causing this?  A real time-sink!   Shocked

Guess this is an odd one - no comments so far!  I have done a "repair" install of Update #4 for VS 2012 - but still seems to 
'not respond' on the upload of a sketch...  I have to keep the task manager open all the time now to recover quickly.   Undecided

Sorry for the delay. It is a strange one and sounds like a windows/usb issue. 

Is the serial monitor open when you try to upload?

No - it just seems that after a number of successful "F5" operations, suddenly VS doesn't like one and it goes to sleep... "Not Responding".  I just keep the Task manager open - kill it off and restart.  There is a tell-tale delay when the upload is in progress... then the black boarders appear round each open panel...   Sad

Hi Alan,

There have been a number of improvements in this area for the next release due before the end of the year. I hope you find they fix this issue. Sorry for the hassle.
