Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Trouble Installing and using the software

I am have trouble with installing the software. I was told that it sounds like the Visual Micro installer is not updating the path in the .addin file correctly.

I was asked to open a thread in the forum to receive instruction on how to make the change manually

Hi dave,

Thanks very much for making the post. I've sent you some questions by email. I hope we can continue with the answers hear?

You have said you are using Win7 and Atmel Studio 6.1

1)
Please confirm the version of atmel studio you are using from help>about

2)
Please zip and email the files in "c:\program files (x86)\Visual Micro\Visual Micro for Arduino" or provide a screen image showing file names and date/times

3)
If you can't provide a zip then email the contents of "c:\program files (x86)\Visual Micro\Visual Micro for Arduino\Visua.Studio.Arduino.AS6.addin" which is a file that can be opened with notepad?

4)
Confirm if when the installation runs that it asks you for administrative permissions and you select OK?

5)
Are you a new Atmel Studio user?

6)
Is this the first version of Visual Micro you have ever installed?

Thanks for sending the information.

I am not sure if you downloaded the installer or simply ran from the web but unless you are an adminitrative user of your win7 I would expect a security prompt to appear. This allows the installer to create a winows global assembly.

Can you please try running the install>remove. then download the installer to your local machine and right click "run as administrator". This allows you to run the installer as admin.
