Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Comm port is not found during upload only.

Hi,
I have just installed VS and everything seems to be working fine, I have the proper comm port selected and have no trouble uploading in the Arduino IDE (1.5). I can build the program without issue but if I try to upload I get an error that basically says I have the wrong configuration usb could not be opened.... Can you tell me what is required in settings to make the the standard serial Arduino connection work?

Hi Dave,

It would help to know the actual error message which often includes important information to help us understand the issue.

I suspect it might not be a com port issue but that you might have accidentally clicked "tools>visual micro>upload using programmer"? If so then please un-tick again because this relates to a special hardware programmer for arduino not a standard usb upload.

Tim,
Sorry about the lack of detail but you were spot on! I unchecked the "upload using programmer" and I'm now uploading  fine.
