VS2013 not finding Arduino.exe

Hello,

I'm new to this software and I'm not getting it to work. I've chosen the Tools > Visual Micro > Choose IDE locations option and set v1.0.x to the following path:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino

When I select Build > Build solution I will get 0 errors but it seems that nothing has compiled. I am not getting any output in the output window.

If I press the "Build and Debug" (green arrow) button I will get the following error message:

  • Unable to start program 'c:\users\[username]\visual studio 2013\projects\[projectname]\Debug\Arduino.exe'

I've also tried to set the IDE version to:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\Arduino.exe

I'm using Arduino v1.0.5r2 on a x64 Windows 8.1 enterprise w/ VS2013 Ultimate.

Also, another thing to point out is that intellisense doesn't seem to be working. These are the steps I've used to create the VS solution:

  • Open VS 2013
  • Select File > New Project
  • Select Templates > Other languages > Visual C++ > Empty Project
  • To get a .ino file in the solution I have copied it to the solution directory in the VS2013 projects folder and added it to the project Source Files directory using Add Existing Item.

Hope to hear from you, I am excited to stop using the Arduino IDE and start using the VS2013 which is my preferred IDE of choice.
