Visual Micro / Atmel Studio Pro Mini upload fails using generic Silicon Labs USB to UART serial bridge. Angry

error message:

avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"

Arduino standalone application uploads the same code with the same UART without a problem. Smiley

That was the problem - I did not check back on this posting as I thought replies would be posted to the message log - but found that suggested solution in another older post after much tweeking of drivers etc.

Thanx.

Yes some people switch it on by mistake thinking this means Arduino serial upload. It actually relates to using a hardware programmer such as the Atmel AvrMKii.

Thanks for the update.
