Hi

Do you have an ETA for Visual Studio 2015 support?

I assume it really should just use a different .addin file? or have Microsoft changed things again for addons?

Chris

Hi all,

I see that the last statement by Admin regarding the ETA for VS2015 support was made end of May 2015, so "few weeks" have passed:-)

Is it more clear now when we can expect support for VS2015?

Thanks a lot in advance for any info,
Hanry.

Hi,

Unfortunately the arduino changes in 1.6.2 took longer to implement than expected. Atmel have also produced a new beta for AS7 in 2013 so that has also impacted. My understanding is that Atmel are considering moving to vs2015 so that will help make one job.

With the zero and other new tools it seemed more important to make visual studio 2013 and atmel studio solid especially because vs2015 offers not added benefit.

vs2015 is certainly still going to come along shortly. Actually it's only just been released by Microsoft this week/last week and no doubt Sp1 will be released soon with fixes for all the things that didn't work Smiley

So it won't be long but keeping the current commitments solid and reliable is or was the priority.

I only have 24 hours in a day and Microsoft, Arduino and Atmel have been running very fast to out do each other.

Many thanks for the detailed insight. It would be just enough for me to get to know an approximate time horizont for the ETA. 1 month or rather longer? Just to decide which VS product to start with... Thanks again.

Hi,

I am hoping that within a month but no promises. I have all versions of vs and atmel installed. Last night I had to reinstall vs2013 which didn't take too long. So I suggest installing both 2013 and 2015. Then you will be able to test the beta and use the stable.

Is it possible to make it work with the higher end versions of VS.

If you  have an MSDN subscription and use the VS you probably have installed anyway ??? it wont work and you have to go back to a community or free version.

Why ?

Visual micro is compatible with all vs versions not just community edition.

If Visual Micro does not appear in vs after install please take a look at point 1) of the faq

Vs 2015 has also been released as beta extension. Please see the download page or note at the top of the home page
