Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Error while installing

Hi,

I'm trying to install the latest plugin version (ArduinoForVisualStudio_1508_30_1.msi) in Atmel Studio 6.2 1563 and it always shows the attached error message. After that it says that the installation was successful, but the plugin won't load.

I've tried to repair, uninstall and install again, reinstalled AS6.2, both with the previous version (1502) and the current one (1563), cleaned all files, before reinstalling, from program files and AppData, cleaned the registry, all to no avail.

I'm using Win7.

Any pointers?

Hi,

Please install the version from the atmel gallery. An installer update will be release next week to fix the issue.

If you want to fix it yourself then open regedit.exe and create an empty  "HKCU\Software\Atmel\AtmelStudio\6.2\AutomationOptions\LookinFolders" key, then run the installer again.

I am having the same exact problem. Tried to add the key manually, tried both version of visual micro. Nothing work, it still don't want to show up in Atmel Studio 6.2.

Hi,

All the installer is trying to do is to add the location of where visual micro is installed to:-

"Tools>Options>Environment>Addin/Macro Security>locations"

The locations is normally:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Micro\Visual Micro for Arduino

You can add it manually then restart the ide.

After doing so you should see visual micro tool bars etc. If not take a look at "tools>addin manager" and make sure the first two checkboxes are ticked. It doesn't matter about the third checkbox.
