Ladies/ Gents, apologies if this is a daft question but the answer is proving elusive.

Is there a Linux version of the visual micro/ arduino plugin?

I have the linux visual studio up and running as well as the linux arduino IDE.

There's only one link to the download which looks more like a Windows executable.

The only thing missing is the plugin..... i thinkĀ  Cheesy

Hi stu, Sadly "Visual Studio Code" is not "Visual Studio" and you have installed "Visual Studio Code"

Smiley

I read a microsoft post yesterday on channel 9 that someone has hooked up .ino files to compile as c++ using the Arduino Ide as the back-end. So it shouldn't be very difficult to make the basic arduino build work in VsCode

Best of luck.

I think investigating hooking up .ino's with VScode might have to wait until I'm having a bored night. It appears that the solution may well be with eclipse for know.
All I'm really looking for is debugging In the IDE.

Yes that makes sense I wish my stuff worked in Eclipse for Linux users Smiley

I can't really see the point of VsCode, Vs and Eclipse are much better.
