Serial Monitor Missing Buttons, high DPI display suspected as reason.

My serial monitor does not appear to be displaying correctly.

This section of the user-guide shows two buttons in the top-right corner of the window (send and settings):
http://www.visualmicro.com/page/User-Guide.aspx?doc=Serial-Monitor.html

However, my window does not have those buttons.

This is Visual Micro 1602.20

I suspect this could be related my laptop having a high-DPI 4K display, which often results in GUI issues for software not written with high DPI in mind. For that matter, there are a ton of other display problems in Visual Micro that result in me being unable to read or select certain options.

Hopefully, someone in charge will see this and be able to work in a solution. I can't be the only person out there using a 4K monitor, and the number of people doing so is increasing every day.

In the mean time, is there another way for me to access the  serial monitor settings?

Thanks.

Thanks for the report.

There is a new release 1602.20 which has the windows scale mode changed from font to dpi.

Interested to hear if any better?

I am already using that version.
I'm sorry, I should have stated that I'm using:

Visual Micro version 1602.20
Visual Studio Community 2015, Version 14.0.24720.00 Update 1
Windows 8.1
Resolution: 3200x1800

Here is the configuration window for Visual Micro:

As you can see, I'm severely hindered.

That window is already being worked on for a fix but it is usable. Just put the path to arduino 1.6.6 in the first edit box then click OK

1602.20 (Feb 20th 2016) which was released earlier today should contain fixes for the serial window and other standard windows that you report in this post initially. Would appreciate knowing how those windows are now?

Thanks

ps: if you have restarted vs the update might have been applied automatically, depends on your settings

I have the newest version (1602.20 from today) installed. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it.

I notice no difference.

Perhaps it's worth noting that after I reinstalled it, the settings appear to have  remained. IE: Not everything is "fresh".
