Programming Arduino Zero (SOLVED - used programmer by mistake)

Hello,
I'm able to program an Arduino Zero using Visual Micro and VisualStudio 2015, option choosen
- Arduino1,6
- Programming using Programming/debug port
- Using every time the programmer for upload
- Programmer ATMEL EDBG
But at the end the little program (BLINK) doesn't run.
If I try to reprogram ArduinoZero with normal ArduinoSuite the program capability doesn't work anymore.

I need to reburn the bootloader with ArduinoSuite to restablish all capabilities.

It is obvious that if I try a program download with visual micro the film restarts Sad

I would precise that programming an old MEGA all is ok both in Visual Micro and Arduino suite.

Thanks in advance for any help
Paolo

Hi,

I think there is a missing scene in the film Smiley

The arduino.cc Zero board is different to the arduino.org M0 and I think you will have the same problem if you use arduino 1.6 to upload to the M0.

In Visual Micro you can configure the Arduino.org Ide location alongside the Arduino 1.6 ide. Currently, in Visual Micro, the Arduino.org ide is labeled "Arduino.org 1.7".

After you configure the .org ide location, when you want a project to use the M0 from Arduino.org, select the Zero from the Arduino.org boards list on the toolbar or "Visual Micro" menu.

I'm using an Arduino.cc Zero Board instead the M0 from Arduino.org.
May be I understood wrong but .cc and .ord IDE are for board respectively from the two different vendors.

So, please, could explain me better ?

Thanks a lot Smiley

Maybe I misunderstood what you mean by "ArduinoSuite" which is a term normally used for the arduino.org board

Arduino.org and arduino.cc are two different vendors. The board you have uses arduino 1.6

> Please confirm that you do not have "always use programmer for upload" ticked?

NOTE: You are probably not using the programmer upload in arduino 1.6. To use programmer in arduino 1.6 you will use "Sketch>Upload using programmer". Is this what you do to upload?

Thanks

With Visual Micro on VIsualStudio2015 I confirm you that I program every time with "always ..", please look at image.
Without this tick the upload fails every time (I'll post a message with details)

Using the Arduino.cc toolchain (1.6.7), the system work well using simply the compile & upload icon , se secon on the top left to be clear.
I didn't tried to use the "upload using programmer", it isn't a checkable opt, so I ignored it in the past.
Anyway, with Arduino,cc toolchain I didn't see issue.
Thanks
Paolo
