Using a sparkfun FTDI cable to my custom arduino board - I send as below and recieve "VMDPR 14:35" on the hyperterminal PC

Code (C++)
Select All
	for (int i = 0; i < 16; i++){
		digitalWrite(13, HIGH);
		adc_val = rd_adc(i);
		delay(100);
		mySerial.print("adc ch" );
		mySerial.print(i);
		mySerial.print("adc value");
		mySerial.println(adc_val );
		delay(500);
		digitalWrite(13, LOW);

Shocked

That means the last upload was with debug enabled and that you also have a report switched on such as memory, digital, analog and/or I2c

That's how the debugger communicates with Visual Studio.
