Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

VS217 Usage issues

Hi,

Using VS2017 I noticed the next issues :

- When opening a project, the project name in the "Solution explorer" window changes to "Sketch".
Only after manually renaming to the real name (identical to the .ino) you can work with it.

- When trying to "Toggle hidden files" VS2017 keeps using CPU but is "not responding"

Thanks yes VS2017 is still RC/beta. There is a new version due shortly so hopefully can be fixed.

I haven't see project names change.

What are you clicking to open a project?

Hi,

Opening by "Open an arduino project" both from "File menu" and vsmicro menu.

I think it is like this :

When I open a poject which is in a directory without a .sln file -> project gets "Sketch"
When there is a .sln file -> project get "Solution name" -> also wrong

Questions

1)
When you click open an arduino project. Which file do you select and click OK to? 

2)
Visual Micro allows the .ino, sln or vcxproj file to be selected during open. After you have setup the solution correctly and saved things, when you next open clicking the sln or vcxproj does it work okay?

3)
If you use the standard visual studio File>Open commands to open the solution or project does everything work okay?

Hi,

1) It happens with all the types (sln, vcxproj,ino)

2) Sometimes it works OK. I am not experienced in VS.
If you give me a few : steps to do to get a completely correct solution, I can investigate.

3) Also with the file->open->solution, it is not always correct. 
Cannot find the logic when OK/Not OK. Probably related to 2)

Yes related to 2) I will look into it thanks.

After you change the word sketch to the correct name, click "file>save all" then the normal visual studio open solution will work correctly.
