error: expected unqualified-id before 'else

I am getting this message:

error: expected unqualified-id before 'else

during compile of an Arduino project.  There is no syntax error, the Arduino IDE compiles the project without errors.

Sometimes the referenced source line actually has an "else" statement on it, and sometimes there isn't an "else" anywhere around.  Any help will be appreciated.

Can you confirm that Visual Micro works same as Arduino IDE when the tool bar is set to Release instead of Debug
