File Lock

Hi,  Since I had upgrade to VS2022, and last VM plugin,  some time when I change code in a ino file and start a new compile or just "save the ino file" I have the message to save under another file name,  I I chose the same file name to save I have the message "file is lock", after I go in the file explorer, delete this file, go back in VS save again the file and it's work.
Did you have any clue

Thanks
Sylvain Bissonnette

Maybe this is a permissions issue.

Did you try running Visual Studio as Administrator? (right click vs icon and run as admin...)

The problem is intermittent, one time on 10 or 20 compilation I have this behavior.  My account is a admin one.

Which virus checker are you using?

Please also give the info requested in yellow above so that we can see which build process is being used

I am not sure I understand but I should have been clearer.

Sometimes virus checkers can cause a clash/locks so I asked out of interest.

Also to understand if the folder is included in sync? such as dropbox or onedrive?

We will also test some more. It would be useful to have the info requested in the yellow box near the top of this page. That will allow us to test with same toolchain/config as yourself.

Thanks

Yes this folder is a Google Drive.  Since yesterday, I didn't have another file lock,  stay tune

Thanks

It's look like this is append if the same file are open in 2 project I work in parallel in 2 VS open,  that was not a problem in vs2017, but at almost the same time Google Drive just change there version....  So I can't see where the problem is. but if I delete the ino file in explorer I don't have any lock message, and I can compile my code.

Thanks for the info. Good to know the issue is resolved thanks.

I don't know if it is useful to mention the menu item "Window>Split". That gives two views of the same file with syncronized edits.

Hi,
I finally find the problem, if I switch off the new Google Drive sync app, I no longer have lock file problem, it's a work around. but it's a bit bad,  to not forget to turn it on after work.
