Hi,
How do I name my device once it's working and ready for the real world?

Assuming you mean the device name presented on another computer/phone, it will depend what type of connection you are presenting as (USB/Wifi/Bluetooth/Serial etc...) and which board you are using to develop your solution on.

There should be examples related to the protocol you are using available online.

Let us know if we have misunderstood your question, or if there is any further assistance we can provide with Visual Micro.
