Upload error with Picoprobe as Programmer, No Programmer In List?

Hi,

I am also having the same problem listed on this thread.
I am using the stock picoprobe product from Raspberry Pi foundation. This works perfectly with the Arduino IDE ver 2, I have tried the above options and can still not get it to work, VM seems to insist on using the usb boot loader, even though the target pico is
powered by a separate power supply (NOT usb), therefore I wish to use the picoprobe as the UPLOADER, I can not select this in the VM drop down list of "uploaders" hardware the combo box is BLANK.
As mentioned earlier this works fine in the Arduino IDE.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Thanks for the report, we have split this thread from the other to keep the issue clearer.

Assuming you are using the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040) board package, there should be a board option shown for the uploader to use.

If you select the "PicoProbe (CMSIS-DAP)" it should perform the upload via the Pico directly instead of the USB (UF2) bootloader.

This should be the same selection as in the Arduino IDE from a UI perspective as they hide the Programmer Menu for the board.

If you have any further issues please attach the build and upload log with the options enabled shown at the top of the page.

Hi,

I am using a standard Raspberry pi Pico(no wifi) as the dev board
connected to as 5v power supply. I am using the standard Raspberry Pi "pico probe kit" that is in a small translucnet plastic box.(not a diy version).

All works fine in Ardunio IDE.

In visual Micro can not see "PicoProbe (CMSIS-DAP)". I have followed instructions for usb driver etc. still no joy.

using VS2022 -- up to date version.

Thanks for the update.

What selection are you making in the Arduino IDE?

Can you see the same option on the vMicro Board Options?

Thanks, if you select the same option in Visual Micro, the same tools and pattern will be used.

Can you show a screenshot of your vMicro menu?
