Is there a way to override the build folder?

I can set the property "build.path" in the local board.txt file, but the build continues to use ...\AppData\Local\temp\...

It can be set in Tools > Options > Visual Micro > Compiler Section: Build Folder.

Once set Visual Studio will need to be restarted before it takes effect.

Documentation: https://visualmicro.com/page/User-Guide.aspx?doc=Tools-Options-Reference.html

tips

The build folder should not be set to be under any specific project. However each project can specify a folder to copy the resulting object and hex files too if that is required.

The build of "cores" uses a seperate folder unless you switch that off but results in inability to share compiled cores (that have same settings) accross multiple projects (the default).
