Raspberry usb connection no recognized - no com port for the serial console

In my Raspberry 2040 and 2350 projects, no com port is offered for the serial console. The last time, I worked with my Raspberry boards, everything was fine. See the screenshots in the attached file, that also contains a build log.

Since I work sporadically with these Raspberry boards, I don't know, when this was, and if it happened after some update.

Thanks
Richard

Thanks for the report.

Have you tried unplugging the board from the PC (and all power).

Press and hold the BOOTSEL1 button down on the board and connect the board to PC, then let go of it once connected.

This normally shows the upload partition for the UF2 uploader to use.

Yes I did all of your suggestions. It worked all the time doing it this way.

But now, it doesn't work any more.

Thanks
Richard

In your document the first screenshot shows the "RP2350 Boot" device near the bottom next to the ST-Link Debug Device, which looks like the board is ready to be uploaded to.

Have you tried this process with both 2350 and 2040 boards, and different USB Cables and ports?

Is everything disconnected from the board, so it is just the USB lead to the PC with no other wires etc?

To my knowledge the bootloader is in ROM on these boards, so holding the button while connecting it to the PC should always work.
